Your portraits should be that much better now. Nothing like that big an aperture to get that creamy background.

I think I've read that you may need to stop it down just a bit or else if you focus on the nose, the hair farther back may be out of focus. I know that that's the case with the 85mm f/1.2... *drool*

How much did you get it for? I was thinking of getting the bargain barrel 50mm f/1.8, but would much rather take the f/1.4.

I use the 50mm f/1.8 for studio work. It's really sharp and crisp. For $80 it beats my $1700 EF 70-200mm f/2.8L w/ IS in the studio anyday.
