I went to Leo's Camera today, a local photography shop here in Vancouver,BC. Lo and behold, they just got in, their first Canon 20D and it was sitting in the display case, so I just had to check this beast out!
First impressions: I've handled the 10D a few times so I can judge how it compares between the two and the 20D offhand felt a bit more comfortable to hold, weight and balance wise. It wasn't too light but just right I thought, very erganomic pretty much like the 10D with slight improvements. The body had the new EF-S 17-85mm IS lens attached and this thing focused fast with it on! ... the 9 point AF diamond grid was unique, but worked well. Startup time is lightning fast as it was hyped up to be, the jogdial worked smoooooothly... on my D60 it works pretty good, but maybe cuz of the age it's kinda worn or something, then the 10D's that I've tried seems to click more notably, then the 20D's was just smooth and clicky too.
I'm actually pondering the idea of getting one myself now heh heh... If only I were to win the Lottery! ... I guess I'd have to buy lottery tickets first to increase those odds.

Yeah, dropping $2000 just for the body alone, then another $800 for that lens, PLUS tax... omg... enough to give me a heart attack. Now if I had gotten $3000 worth of scholarships... that would've been a whole nother story.

I guess things are cheaper in BC cuz the prices in Ontario are $100 higher
The 18-55mm USM kit lens or the 17-85 USM IS... If I were going for the 18-55mm, I'd go for instead the 18-50mm f/2.8 from Sigma. The kit lens for the camera, at least the 300D one, is pretty junky.
