Allaya November Shoot 9 by ddsoul Allaya November Shoot 9 by ddsoul
Model:Allaya

I was thinking about just leaving this b+w ... but then I thought about colorizing her eyes... it looked good! so I left it. I stuck this into the digital darkroom because I only colorized the eyes, the rest just adjustment layers...

The object in the forefront is just her hand... I'm glad I used a shallow dof so that it turned out blurred.

Enjoy.

that cold stare is beautiful, and the eyes shouldn't have been colored...it ruins the image imo

this is an adorable pose. you caught an innocence, that makes me smile.
from the thumbnail i thought her eyes were black, the close up is very intimate. i love the detailing and texture in her eyes and her hair. i would have liked her hand to have a bit more body and shadow on it's own. a very great thought in finding this image =)

Incredible shot, You totally captured her innocense in this picture. The only crit I could say is the bedsheet is sorta covering up her face a little and it distracts her face. But overall, I like this picture from your gallery the best

Nicely done. The eyes are subtle enough that they don't dominate the image, but yet the do pop. I like the way each of the eyes is slightly covered up. Seems more... real somehow. I also love the texture of her hair in B&W. I also like the hint of the arm bracelet. Again, it somehow makes the picture seem like a captured moment instead of a posed photo.

how do you do that? i'm not very good with any program yet... but how do you do that?

Its quite easy... the simplest way of explaining it is... it's like a digital coloring book where you don't have to worry about coloring within the lines... I could easily teach you how.

yea... like what program do you use? adobe photoshop? and how do you use it? THANKS!

yea... photoshop.. hmm good question.. how "do" I use it?? I guess the better question would be, how would you use? ? .. I've learned on my own, lots of trial n error ( I had a photoshop class, but it didn't teach me anything I didn't already know ) ... best advice I could give is just stick it onto your pc... play with it... if you get stuck on something ask or check out some tutorials online, they're usually really helpful! just to get started...

yea me too, i've been learning photoshop on my own too. all i know is blur, smudge, brightness/contrats... some color adjustments, AND THAT'S IT... how pathetic... hahaha... so for the color part, did you just use the paintbrush in there? thanks buddy

yah.. but you could technically use anything... the brush has more control I guess you could say.... the thinks you know so far... there's not much more you really need to learn, you have a lot of the basics down! :) do you use adjustment layers or do you just do the color adjustments right on the main layer itself?

on the main layer itself... how do you adjust layers?

:iconddsoul:

in the layers box in the lower right, there's a small button, I think 3 from the right bottom. The order is garbage can, add layer, adjustment layer. Click on the adjustment layer button and you'll get a choice of many options ... some that will be familiar to you.. such as color balance or levels... click on one of them and do the adjustments as you normally would. The good thing about doing it this way is that the effects aren't permanent.. At any time you can go and double click on the adjustment layer and make slight adjustments over and over again... to suit ones needs if and whever need be. :) the point?? more freedom more control.
